Hashman Bites was created in 2023 by Australian born New York based artist and lawyer Claire Hashman. 

Claire came up with Hashman Bites after having her teeth straightened using aligners in 2022. Finding the trays too lovely to dispose of, she squirreled them away thinking they could be included in her art one day. A year later, when Claire couldn't find any earrings to match the green shoes she wanted to wear to an art show in Soho New York, she realized she could make the perfect accessory!

As a lawyer, Claire specialized in sustainability in the built environment and has developed green leasing standards that are used around the world today. As an artist, Claire's paintings often deal with environmental issues. So it makes sense that, as a jewelry designer, Claire would do something that has a positive impact on the planet.
